Gold Prices Supported Ahead of UN General Assembly Talks on Iran War

Gold prices have shown resilience following the recent Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decision, as market reactions to a less hawkish outlook on interest rates have provided support. The Federal Reserve's projections indicate a more tempered approach than previously anticipated, contributing to a decline in inflation and rate hike concerns, particularly in light of falling oil prices.

Market attention is now focused on the upcoming United Nations General Assembly, where discussions regarding the ongoing conflict in Iran are expected to take place. Former U.S. President Donald Trump has called for a meeting with Gulf leaders to strategize on the situation, and the Iranian delegation will also be present, potentially facilitating a meeting between Trump and Iranian President Pezeshkian. A de-escalation in tensions could further lower oil prices, which would likely ease inflationary pressures and support gold prices.

Technical analysis indicates that gold rebounded from a key support level of 4,300 but faced resistance around 4,400. Analysts suggest that if prices retreat to the support level, buyers may re-enter the market, aiming for a rally towards 4,510. Conversely, sellers will be looking for a break below 4,300 to target lower levels. Upcoming economic data, including U.S. PMIs, may also influence market expectations and gold pricing.
