IEA to Finalize G7's 100 Million-Barrel Oil Release Plan

The International Energy Agency (IEA) governing board is set to determine the specifics of the G7's plan to release 100 million barrels of emergency crude oil and diesel. This decision is scheduled for October 14-15, 2026, as discussions continue among member countries regarding their contributions to the release.

Details regarding the allocation of crude oil versus diesel among the G7 nations have not yet been disclosed. However, it is anticipated that Italy will be among the contributors. The release is planned to occur over a four-month period, with a significant portion of diesel being released at the outset.
