      • The Nasdaq Composite recorded its 23rd all-time high of 2026, lifting stock futures on Tuesday morning
      • Nvidia advanced 0.9% to $241.05 in premarket trading after closing at a record $298.90 the previous session

U.S. stock futures advanced in early Tuesday trading, building on momentum from the Nasdaq Composite’s latest record-breaking performance.

The technology-heavy benchmark achieved its 23rd record close of the year during Monday’s session, with semiconductor and tech shares providing the primary lift.

AI Hardware Ecosystem Supports Chip Stock Strength

The chipmaker’s premarket advance followed positive quarterly results from Foxconn, a key manufacturing partner for AI server infrastructure. Foxconn’s own shares declined 2.64% despite the solid earnings, though investor sentiment around AI hardware supply chains remained constructive.

Semiconductor stocks have accounted for a substantial portion of equity market appreciation throughout 2026. Nvidia continues to serve as the bellwether for this sector-wide rally.

Electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid Group saw shares tick up 0.2% Tuesday morning. The company disclosed that third-quarter vehicle deliveries surpassed its production output.

This represents the second consecutive quarter in which deliveries have exceeded manufacturing volumes. Lucid is executing an operational transformation aimed at achieving $1.4 billion in cash flow optimization.

A central component of this strategy involves inventory reduction. The latest delivery figures indicate meaningful headway toward that objective.

Athletic apparel giant Nike saw shares decline 1.3% in Tuesday’s premarket session. The company has struggled throughout the current year.

Stock performance shows a 47% retreat through Monday’s market close. Management’s cautious forward outlook shared last week did little to restore investor confidence.

Nike has yet to articulate a specific timeframe for operational recovery. Market participants continue monitoring for evidence of business stabilization.

Multiple companies are set to announce quarterly results this week. Lamb Weston and RPM International were slated to report before Tuesday’s market open.

Constellation Brands, Neogen, Penguin Solutions, and Worthington Steel have earnings releases scheduled after the closing bell. Penguin Solutions shares declined 1.06% during early trading.

      Top Performing and Declining Stocks

Option Care Health experienced a 22% share price surge. The dramatic move came after media reports indicated that healthcare distributor McKesson and private equity investor Clayton, Dubilier & Rice are approaching a definitive agreement to purchase the home and alternate site infusion services provider.

The potential transaction could assign Option Care Health an enterprise value exceeding $5 billion when debt is included. The parties have not yet finalized binding terms.

Constellation Energy shares advanced 3% on reports that Google’s parent company Alphabet is finalizing a multiyear agreement valued at $1 billion or higher to purchase nuclear-generated electricity from Constellation.

An announcement could emerge within days. Details regarding the specific nuclear generation capacity and geographic deployment remain undisclosed.

Freshworks shares appreciated 4% following confirmation that the company will join the S&P SmallCap 600 index, replacing BioLife Solutions. The index reconstitution becomes effective prior to Thursday, October 8 market open.

Vaxcyte shares retreated 4% after the biotechnology company announced concurrent public offerings: $500 million in common equity and pre-funded warrants, alongside $500 million in convertible senior notes maturing in 2032.

Spyre Therapeutics declined 3.5% after pricing a 4.12 million share offering at $85.00 per share, anticipated to generate approximately $350 million in gross proceeds.

United Microelectronics shares fell 2.2%, notwithstanding a 27.22% year-over-year increase in September revenue to NT$25.35 billion. The semiconductor foundry also disclosed plans to issue $1.8 billion in unsecured overseas convertible bonds.
