European Markets Show Positive Sentiment Amid Falling Oil Prices and French Budget Reforms

European markets experienced a positive shift in risk sentiment as oil prices fell and bond yields declined. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude oil dropped by 2.56%, contributing to the overall market rebound. The easing of tensions between the United States and Iran, following the recent UN General Assembly, has also bolstered investor confidence, allowing stock markets to rise and the US dollar to pull back.

In France, the government has announced measures aimed at significantly reducing the budget deficit by curbing spending and increasing tax revenues. This decision comes in response to recent pressures in the bond market, where the spread between French government bonds (OAT) and German bonds (Bund) had reached levels not seen since the European debt crisis. The narrowing of this spread indicates a potential stabilization in the market, which had previously raised concerns about contagion risks within the euro area.

As a result of these developments, European stock markets opened higher, although France's performance lagged behind other nations. The bond market's reaction to the French government's fiscal plans suggests a shift in policy that may lead to a significant turnaround in economic strategy. Meanwhile, the Bank of Japan's Governor Haruhiko Ueda indicated that inflation is nearing the 2% target, keeping the possibility of a rate hike in December firmly on the table.
