People's Bank of China Sets Yuan Central Rate at 6.7459 Against US Dollar

The People's Bank of China (PBOC) has established the central exchange rate for the Chinese yuan at 6.7459 against the US dollar, which is significantly higher than the market estimate of 6.6989. This adjustment reflects the PBOC's ongoing management of the yuan's value in the foreign exchange market.

The PBOC permits the yuan to fluctuate within a range of plus or minus 2% around this reference rate, allowing for some flexibility in response to market conditions. This mechanism is part of China's broader strategy to stabilize its currency amid varying economic pressures.
