Solana (SOL) Price Maintains $115 Support While Bulls Eye $120 Breakout
Key Highlights
- SOL maintains position around $116 following a surge from approximately $75 in August.
- Previous resistance between $95-$100 has successfully converted into a support foundation.
- Technical indicators show RSI at 64.14 with bullish MACD signals indicating continued upward pressure.
- Network testing Alpenglow consensus mechanism targeting 150-millisecond transaction finality.
- Foundation expands leadership team while real-world asset tokenization surpasses $4.5 billion threshold.
Solana (SOL) continues to hold steady around the $116.27 price level as of September 25. During today’s trading session, the cryptocurrency reached an intraday peak of $118.45.

The digital asset has demonstrated consistent upward movement since bottoming near $75 during August. Daily charting reveals a structure of progressively higher lows forming since that foundational base.
Throughout September, an upward-sloping trend line has provided reliable support for this advance. This technical support line currently indicates a floor in the $100-$105 price region.
During the early part of this month, SOL successfully penetrated a resistance barrier ranging from $95 to $100. This price zone had previously prevented multiple rally attempts throughout the initial months of 2026.
Market Participants Focus on $120 Threshold
The $118-$120 price range has captured significant attention from market participants. SOL has approached this level on multiple occasions without achieving a confirmed daily close above it.

Successfully clearing the $120 barrier on a sustained basis would establish SOL at its strongest position since the significant downturn witnessed earlier this year. Beyond that milestone, the subsequent resistance layer aligns with the trading ranges observed during December and January.
Current daily RSI measurements show a reading of 64.14. This figure stands above the neutral midpoint of 50 while remaining below the 70 threshold frequently associated with overbought conditions.
The MACD indicator continues displaying bullish characteristics. The primary MACD line registers at 5.53, positioned above its signal line at 4.72, producing a histogram value of 0.81.
Market analyst Crypto Patel provided an extended timeframe perspective on Solana’s price structure. Patel identifies a supply concentration between $138 and $149 on longer timeframes, highlighting $148.73 as a critical threshold that could validate a structural market shift. The analyst presents two scenarios: a sustained close beyond $150 could unlock pathways toward $250, subsequently $500, and potentially the $700-$1000 corridor, whereas a rejection within the $139-$150 band might trigger downside movement toward $95, $74, or the $60.14 support level.
Should SOL experience downward pressure from present levels, the ascending trend line represents the initial support layer worth monitoring. The broader $95-$100 price zone maintains greater significance as a support floor given its historical function as resistance.
Protocol Enhancements and Enterprise Expansion
The Alpenglow consensus protocol enhancement has progressed into public testnet evaluation. This upgrade targets a reduction in transaction finality from approximately 12.8 seconds to around 150 milliseconds.
Alpenglow represents a replacement for the existing TowerBFT framework, introducing an alternative mechanism called Votor. Under this system, validators could achieve block finalization within one or two voting cycles, though deployment to mainnet remains unscheduled.
The Solana Foundation announced the appointment of Rachel Conlan, previously with Binance, as chief strategy officer. Additionally, Jamal Raees, formerly of Polygon Labs, has been designated general manager for payments initiatives.
These executive positions will concentrate on cultivating institutional partnerships and advancing payment infrastructure adoption. Foundation data indicates Solana has facilitated over $5 trillion in stablecoin transaction volume during the current year.
Tokenized real-world assets operating on Solana have exceeded the $4.5 billion milestone. The supply of tokenized equity instruments on the platform has crossed $620 million.
A notable development scheduled for September 25 involves the discontinuation of Switchboard’s oracle infrastructure. Multiple platforms including Kamino, Jito, MarginFi, and Drift have relied on these oracle services and are currently navigating the migration process.
