Yardeni Research Lowers S&P 500 Year-End Target Amid Rising Market Risks

Yardeni Research has revised its year-end target for the S&P 500 index to 7,900, down from a previous estimate of 8,400. The firm has indicated that increasing investor caution could lead to lower stock valuations as various market risks come into play.

Despite the lowered target, Yardeni Research maintains a positive outlook on corporate earnings, projecting earnings of $425 per share for the year 2027. The firm does not foresee a recession occurring through 2029, suggesting a stable economic environment in the near future.

However, concerns surrounding investments in artificial intelligence, ongoing inflation, and expectations of interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve are contributing to the current pressures on stock markets. Yardeni Research emphasizes that while buying opportunities may be on the rise, investors should proceed with caution.
