Anthropic Expands Presence in Asia-Pacific with New Office in Singapore

Anthropic has officially opened its fifth office in the Asia-Pacific region, located in Singapore. This expansion is part of the company's strategy to enhance its operations and collaborations in the region, which is becoming increasingly significant for its AI offerings.

In conjunction with the office opening, Anthropic signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Communications and Information of Singapore. This agreement aims to foster collaboration in key areas such as AI safety, model evaluation, and the responsible adoption of artificial intelligence technologies.

Singapore has emerged as a vital market for Anthropic's AI model, Claude, with over a thousand government agencies and enterprises utilizing its capabilities. Notably, GovTech Singapore has integrated Claude Code into its operations, with more than 1,500 engineers leveraging the technology to modernize government systems. Additionally, the ride-hailing company Grab has reported saving approximately 40,000 hours of manpower each quarter through the use of a Claude-driven sales assistant.
