Anthropic Leads AI Subscription Market Among U.S. Enterprises

On September 9, 2026, Ramp, a corporate spending management platform, released its Ramp AI Index, revealing that Anthropic holds a significant 43.8% share of the paid AI subscription market among U.S. enterprises. This marks a month-over-month increase of 0.34 percentage points. OpenAI follows closely with a 39.8% share, having increased by 0.09 percentage points during the same period.

The report indicates that while overall AI adoption is on the rise, the growth rate is beginning to slow. Key sectors driving this trend include information technology, finance, and professional services. Notably, the median monthly AI spending per capita for the top 1% of enterprises saw a decline of 9.7%, dropping from $7,976 to $7,205.

Additionally, the effective price per million tokens has significantly decreased by 41%, falling from a peak of $1.15 in March 2026 to $0.68. This reduction in cost is attributed to the increased use of more affordable standard models, with advanced models such as Opus, Fable, and Sol making up 45% of the token share. However, the adoption of open-source models remains limited, accounting for only 6.4% of AI spending enterprises and 3.6% of all enterprises.
