Bitcoin ETFs Experience Record Inflows Amid Dovish Fed Signals

On September 3, 2026, Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) recorded a significant surge in net inflows, totaling $731 million, the highest daily figure since January 2026. This increase was largely driven by BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust, known as IBIT, which alone attracted approximately $454 million. Other notable contributors included Fidelity's FBTC and ARK 21Shares' ARKB, but IBIT remained the focal point of this market activity.

The recent inflow spike is part of a broader trend, with weekly inflows for the period ending September 4 reaching around $987 million. August 2026 has already emerged as a standout month for Bitcoin ETFs, with total inflows for the month amounting to approximately $3.5 billion, marking the strongest performance since September 2025. This resurgence follows a record outflow of $3.4 billion in early June 2026, highlighting the volatility in the market.

The timing of this influx coincides with dovish remarks from Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller, which have historically encouraged investment in risk assets like Bitcoin. Lower interest rates reduce the opportunity cost of holding non-yielding assets, making them more attractive to investors. Since their launch in January 2024, US spot Bitcoin ETFs have amassed over $55 billion in cumulative net inflows, reflecting substantial interest from institutional investors such as pension funds and family offices.
