Capital B Completes 10-for-1 Reverse Stock Split, Share Price Surpasses €5

Capital B SA, a company listed on Euronext Growth Paris and formerly known as The Blockchain Group, has successfully executed a 10-for-1 reverse stock split effective September 8, 2026. This strategic move has elevated its share price from below €1 to a range between €4.80 and €5.10, a significant threshold for attracting institutional investors.

Prior to the consolidation, Capital B's shares were trading between €0.48 and €0.51. Following the split, the number of outstanding shares decreased from approximately 300.6 million to about 30.1 million, increasing the par value of each share from €0.08 to €0.80. Trading of the old shares ceased on September 7, and the new shares began trading under the same ticker, ALCPB, on September 8.

The reverse stock split was announced on July 20, 2026, and received necessary approvals from the board and shareholders. This restructuring aims to shed the company's penny-stock image, which can deter institutional investors due to internal policies that restrict purchases of stocks priced below certain levels. Capital B positions itself as Europe’s first listed Bitcoin treasury company, holding 3,139 BTC as part of its corporate strategy, drawing comparisons to the US-based MicroStrategy.

While the higher share price may enhance the company’s appeal to institutional investors, it is important to note that reverse stock splits do not inherently improve a company's fundamentals or guarantee sustained investor interest. Historically, companies that undertake such measures to avoid penny-stock classification have not always experienced lasting benefits.
