Celestia launches Eden, a high-performance EVM chain, to explore on-chain trading demand from agents
PANews reported on October 16 that Celestia announced the launch of Eden, a high-performance EVM chain built on Celestia and oriented toward experimenting with the agent economy, designed to study agents' on-chain behavior and their demand for block space.
Celestia said Eden's first experiment is the @botfunHQ closed beta, where agents can issue tokens and trade around narratives created by one another. During the experiment, every inference call was paid on-chain via x402, and Eden at one point became one of the x402 chains with the highest number of transactions.
According to the introduction, Eden is built with the Evolve Stack, uses Celestia for data availability, and is compatible with existing Solidity contracts, Hardhat, Foundry, and EVM development tools such as Ethers/Viem.
