Coinbase Reports Delays in Celestia Token Transfers Amid Normal Trading Activity
Coinbase has announced that users are experiencing delays when transferring Celestia's TIA token to and from the exchange, although buying, selling, and fiat transactions remain unaffected. The delays are specific to the Celestia network's on-chain transfers, which involve moving tokens between Coinbase accounts and external addresses. Internal operations, such as order matching and fiat transactions, continue to function normally.
This is not the first instance of such delays; similar issues were reported in January and April 2026, as well as in November 2025, when Coinbase flagged a similar problem. In that case, the issue was resolved within a day, and trading activity was not impacted. Coinbase has reassured customers that their funds are secure despite these disruptions.
Celestia, which launched in October 2023, operates as a modular data availability network, with TIA as its native token. The network is currently undergoing significant technical upgrades, including the v10 'Fibre' upgrade aimed at increasing throughput. As of October 2026, Celestia's circulating supply is approximately 920 million TIA, and the network has an active development roadmap. Traders holding TIA on Coinbase can continue to buy and sell normally, but those looking to move tokens in or out may face challenges.
