Robinhood Chain Achieves $15 Billion in Stock Token Trading in First 100 Days
Robinhood Chain has reported a cumulative trading volume of $15 billion in stock tokens since its launch on July 1, 2026. This milestone comes as the network celebrates its first 100 days of operation, during which it has attracted approximately 200,000 stock token holders. The platform, built on the Arbitrum Orbit stack as an Ethereum Layer-2 network, has seen significant activity, particularly in September when it captured about 42% of on-chain equity trading volume, amounting to $6.57 billion.
In addition to trading, the DeFi aspect of Robinhood Chain is noteworthy, with Morpho's dashboard indicating that around $1.1 billion has been deposited on the network. This figure suggests that users are actively engaging with the platform beyond mere trading, utilizing their assets for lending and collateral purposes. The stock tokens, which are ERC-20 tokens representing tokenized debt securities, provide holders with economic exposure to U.S. stocks and ETFs, although they do not confer ownership or voting rights in the underlying companies.
Robinhood's decision to create its own chain allows it to maintain control over the settlement layer and customize the network while benefiting from Ethereum's liquidity and tooling. The platform currently restricts access to users outside the U.S., U.K., and Canada, which may impact its growth potential given that these regions represent a significant portion of Robinhood's existing customer base. As competition intensifies with other networks like BNB Chain and Solana pursuing tokenized equity activities, Robinhood's position in the market remains dynamic.
