Cryptocurrency Market Capitalization Increases by $14 Billion in 24 Hours

The cryptocurrency market capitalization rose by $14 billion in less than 24 hours, bringing the total market cap close to $2.83 trillion. This increase, while notable, is relatively modest compared to the larger fluctuations that have characterized the market in 2026.

Daily market cap changes have been averaging around 0.8%, indicating that the $14 billion gain is a minor adjustment rather than a significant shift. In contrast, the market experienced a substantial surge of $112 billion on September 3, when Bitcoin's price exceeded $81,000, highlighting the volatility of the crypto landscape.

Bitcoin continues to maintain a trading price above $81,000, with its dominance in the market fluctuating between 57% and 59%. This suggests that altcoins are actively participating in market rallies, rather than merely following Bitcoin's lead. The total market cap has rebounded significantly from a low of approximately $2.3 trillion earlier in the year, marking a recovery of over $500 billion.
