Diameter Pay Secures $10 Million in Series A Funding for Cross-Border Crypto Payments

Diameter Pay, a fintech startup specializing in cross-border payments, has successfully raised $10 million in Series A funding. The funding round was co-led by CMT Digital and Lightspeed Faction, both of which have significant investments in blockchain infrastructure. This marks a pivotal moment for Diameter Pay, which has processed over $10 billion in regulated payments since its inception as SendFriend at MIT in 2017.

The new funding will enable Diameter Pay to expand its services to include virtual currency corridors, enhancing its existing payment solutions. The company aims to provide banks and financial institutions with options for on-chain settlement alongside traditional payment methods. This strategic shift follows a rebranding from SendFriend to Diameter Pay in April 2023, reflecting its transition from a consumer-focused remittance service to an embedded payments API provider.

Diameter Pay's focus on emerging markets, particularly in Asia, aims to address high cross-border payment costs and improve financial inclusion. To ensure compliance, the company has partnered with Flagright to implement real-time transaction monitoring and anti-money laundering screening, with plans for this system to go live in July 2025.
