Jito Enhances Block Assembly Marketplace on Solana, Reduces Bundle Delays
Jito has announced an upgrade to its Block Assembly Marketplace (BAM) on the Solana blockchain, reducing bundle submission delays by approximately 50 milliseconds. This improvement comes as early results indicate a 72% increase in average rewards for each successful bundle submitted to the network, following Solana's recent adjustments to its slot times.
The upgrade aligns with Solana's decision to decrease its target slot times to 200 milliseconds on October 9, 2026. In response, BAM has tightened its auction intervals from 25 milliseconds to 20 milliseconds to maintain synchronization with the network's accelerated pace. Additionally, Jito has addressed various performance issues, resulting in a 15.5% increase in tips per block, enhancing the overall efficiency of the marketplace.
BAM, which launched on the Solana mainnet on September 25, 2025, utilizes Trusted Execution Environments (TEEs) to ensure private and verifiable transaction processing. As of the end of Epoch 1050, BAM had attracted 385 validators and managed 164 million SOL in delegated stake, representing about 37% of Solana's total stake. The upcoming Alpenglow consensus upgrade, expected in mid-to-late October 2026, will temporarily shift BAM nodes into maintenance mode, pausing certain features while bundle processing continues. Stakeholders are keenly observing how these changes will affect transaction ordering and revenue generation within the Solana ecosystem.
