Micron Technology Projects $61.5 Billion Revenue for Q1 of Fiscal Year 2027

Micron Technology, a leading semiconductor manufacturer, has announced that it expects to generate $61.5 billion in revenue for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. During an earnings call, Chief Financial Officer Mark Murphy indicated that the company anticipates earnings per share of $38.15, marking a continued quarter-over-quarter increase. He noted that this quarter will represent the lowest gross margin for the entire fiscal year, with expectations for gradual recovery in subsequent quarters.

The company has secured 26 long-term agreements, amounting to approximately $150 billion in orders, which Murphy stated will help stabilize supply and demand in the storage market. He emphasized that the market conditions for 2027 and 2028 are expected to be tighter than in 2026, with no immediate resolution in sight for the supply-demand balance.

Micron Technology plans to allocate around $25 billion for capital expenditures in the first half of fiscal year 2027, with increased spending anticipated in the latter half. Most of this investment will be directed towards the construction of new wafer fabrication plants, reflecting the long lead times required for such projects. Murphy also highlighted that in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, the company achieved $44 billion in operating cash flow and $33.2 billion in free cash flow, with plans to return 100% of excess cash to shareholders starting December 9, 2026, primarily through stock buybacks.
