PANews September 16 news, according to OpenRouter, user spending on OpenAI models on OpenRouter exceeded that on Anthropic models for the first time in over 2.5 years last week. Multiple developers and industry practitioners pointed out that this change in "wallet share" may be related to the price reduction of OpenAI's new endpoints, adjustments to default model configurations in routing, and cost differences arising from different task types and context lengths.
