Russia classifies crypto miners under the fourth power supply reliability category, allowing authorities to cut power at any time without negotiation

PANews reported on October 11, citing Bits media, that Russia's Ministry of Energy stated that when crypto miners connect to the power grid, they apply for connection under the fourth power supply reliability category. Such users can be directly disconnected by authorities at any time without prior negotiation. The category was established by government decision in February this year, allowing technical connection in regions where energy shortages have been declared and mining is prohibited. The Ministry of Energy said this move can effectively utilize existing energy infrastructure without threatening the reliability of power supply to residents.
