SEC Files Lawsuits Against Cryptoaiml and TSAI for Alleged $15 Million Fraud

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has initiated legal action against four entities, including Cryptoaiml Ltd. and TSAI Pro Ltd., for allegedly defrauding investors of over $15 million through fictitious AI-powered trading schemes. The complaints were filed in the Southern District of New York and accuse the defendants of using WhatsApp chats and fabricated SEC filings to attract hundreds of retail investors with promises of high returns from non-existent trading bots.

Between August 2024 and March 2025, the Cryptoaiml entities reportedly raised at least $12.5 million, while the TSAI entities accounted for an additional $2.8 million. Investors were misled into believing they were accessing sophisticated AI-driven trading platforms, only to find their funds funneled overseas. The SEC claims that the operators impersonated financial professionals and issued fake trading signals, even publishing a doctored screenshot of a regulatory filing to create an illusion of legitimacy.

SEC Enforcement Division Director David Woodcock described these operations as 'investment confidence scams,' emphasizing that they exploit trust rather than complex financial strategies. The SEC is seeking injunctive relief, the return of ill-gotten gains, and civil penalties against all four entities involved in the alleged fraud. This case highlights a growing trend of scams utilizing social media platforms like WhatsApp to create a false sense of community and credibility among potential investors.
