Spot Ethereum ETFs Achieve $1.75 Billion in Inflows for August 2026

Spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States experienced a significant resurgence in August 2026, attracting $1.75 billion in inflows, marking the best monthly performance since August 2025. This recovery follows a challenging period earlier in the year, during which the category faced over $1 billion in net outflows in May and June combined.

The majority of the inflows occurred during a concentrated nine-day period starting around August 17, which generated approximately $1.42 billion. Notably, August 27 saw a peak inflow of $225.8 million into spot Ethereum products, closely trailing Bitcoin ETFs, which attracted $242.3 million on the same day. BlackRock's ETHA fund was the primary contributor, accounting for about 72% of the total inflow, with approximately $1.02 billion.

The surge in institutional investment was driven by a combination of declining Treasury yields and a more favorable regulatory environment for digital assets, which encouraged traditional finance channels to engage with Ethereum. Since the launch of spot Ethereum ETFs in July 2024, cumulative net inflows have reached between $12 billion and $13 billion, with total assets under management estimated between $12 billion and $15 billion as of August 2026. This trend highlights a growing interest in Ethereum as a yield-bearing digital commodity, particularly through staking-enabled products like BlackRock's ETHB.
