Bybit Reports $19.6 Billion in Proof-of-Reserves Following Expansion of Asset Coverage
Bybit, a cryptocurrency exchange, has released its 40th proof-of-reserves report, revealing that the total value of covered assets has reached $19.6 billion. This figure marks an increase from $18.1 billion reported in late August 2026. The latest report, based on a snapshot taken on September 23, 2026, shows that all 50 tracked tokens are fully backed, addressing ongoing concerns about exchange solvency in the cryptocurrency industry.
The report indicates that user assets in Bitcoin amounted to approximately 56,131 BTC, with reserves at 58,722 BTC, maintaining a reserve ratio of 104%. Ethereum holdings were reported at 551,869 ETH, backed by reserves of 570,018 ETH, resulting in a slight increase in the reserve ratio from 102% to 103%. Additionally, Tether (USDT) liabilities decreased to about $3.59 billion, supported by reserves of approximately $3.96 billion, yielding a reserve ratio of 110%.
Bybit's proof-of-reserves program, initiated in December 2022, employs Merkle tree technology to ensure transparency and security for its users. This latest report includes 10 newly added tokens, which have reserve ratios ranging from 101% to 125%, thereby expanding the verification capabilities for users holding these assets. The exchange currently serves over 80 million users, providing them with assurance that their assets are fully backed.
