Tetra Digital Group Launches Canadian-Dollar Stablecoin CADD on Solana

Tetra Digital Group has introduced Canada's first regulated Canadian-dollar stablecoin, CADD, on the Solana blockchain, expanding its initial launch on Base, Ethereum, and Tempo, which took place on May 4, 2026. CADD is pegged 1:1 to Canadian dollars held in segregated trust reserves, ensuring its stability through independent audits and approval from the Alberta Treasury Board and Finance.

The initiative is backed by a consortium of notable Canadian financial entities, including Wealthsimple, Shopify, and the National Bank of Canada, among others. Tetra Digital Group raised $10 million in September 2025 to support the development of CADD, which aims to modernize payment infrastructure in Canada by facilitating 24/7 cross-border settlements and real-time treasury transfers.

CADD's launch on Solana is strategic, leveraging the blockchain's high transaction throughput and low fees to enhance payment capabilities. Tetra Trust Company, recognized as Canada’s first regulated digital asset custodian, provides a regulatory framework that distinguishes CADD from many other stablecoin projects. This expansion positions CADD to serve institutional users effectively across multiple blockchain platforms.
