Vesu Launches STRK Rewards for Bitcoin Borrowers on Starknet

Vesu, a lending protocol operating on Starknet, has introduced a new incentive program for Bitcoin borrowers, allowing them to earn STRK rewards on BTC-backed loans. This initiative, announced on October 8, 2026, aims to reduce the net cost of borrowing for users accessing loans through the Sats Terminal frontend.

The Vesu platform enables users to borrow against various tokenized versions of Bitcoin, including WBTC, LBTC, SolvBTC, tBTC, and strkBTC. Borrowers can claim STRK rewards weekly when they take out stablecoins against their BTC collateral. The Sats Terminal provides a user-friendly interface for setting up these loans, which can result in effective net annual percentage rates (APRs) that approach zero or even become negative during reward periods.

The Starknet Foundation has allocated 100 million STRK tokens for its BTCFi Season program, which is designed to promote on-chain Bitcoin activity, including borrowing. This program follows the launch of Vesu V2 in late 2025, which expanded the lending capabilities for Bitcoin collateral on Starknet. As borrowers benefit from these incentives, the sustainability of this borrowing model will depend on the value of STRK at the time of claim and the eventual winding down of subsidies.
