OpenAI Infrastructure Chief Steps Down, Former xAI Executive Ruddarraju Takes Over

PANews, October 15 - According to Bloomberg, OpenAI has appointed former xAI executive Uday Ruddarraju to lead its infrastructure and compute business. Sachin Katti, who previously headed the infrastructure division, will step down in the coming weeks and transition to an advisory role, while GPT-Infra work will be handled by chip lead Richard Ho. Ruddarraju joined OpenAI last year and became chief technology officer of the compute division in July this year. In recent months, OpenAI's team responsible for data center procurement, financing and construction has seen frequent personnel changes, with several executives involved in data center construction and the Stargate project having already departed.
