White House forms AI task force to draft AI risk assessment report
PANews reported on October 4, citing Jin10, that the U.S. White House has formed an ad hoc group on artificial intelligence (AI), led by Director of National Intelligence Clayton, making him the "AI czar" of the Trump administration as widely expected. Within 120 days, the group will draft a report assessing the risks posed by AI and what regulatory responsibilities the federal government should bear for this technology. Clayton confirmed that he will lead this "Super Intelligence Force" ("super intelligence" is Trump's term for AI). Clayton said: "The President asked for a group to be formed to ensure delivery on his promise to keep us in a leadership position in super intelligence and to put the interests of the American people first."
