Aptos CEO Dismisses Shutdown Rumors as Unfounded

Avery Ching, co-founder and CEO of Aptos Labs, has publicly refuted rumors suggesting that the Aptos blockchain will cease operations within the next six months. Ching characterized these claims as "stupid rumors," emphasizing that they lack any credible basis. The initial report that sparked the speculation was shared on a social media platform without any official confirmation from Aptos Labs or supporting documentation.

Further scrutiny revealed that the account responsible for the rumor admitted to having no concrete evidence, stating the information was simply "heard" and advising caution in its interpretation. Additionally, another community account alleged that Aptos had made significant layoffs over the past year and was under financial strain, but this claim was also deemed unreliable, with no public data to substantiate it.

Despite the circulating rumors, Aptos's governance records indicate ongoing network upgrade proposals and successful mainnet function updates, with no official announcements regarding a shutdown of the mainnet. This suggests that the blockchain remains operational and continues to develop.
