ZachXBT criticizes XRPL for paying white-hat hacker only $250K for discovering "unlimited XRP supply" vulnerability
PANews, October 12 - In response to "XRP Ledger Foundation clarifies misunderstandings about security fix," on-chain detective ZachXBT stated, "Sitting on billions of dollars in their treasury, yet they only paid the white-hat hacker who discovered the severe 'unlimited XRP minting' vulnerability $250,000. This is essentially 'assisting' in ensuring that next time attackers won't choose to responsibly report vulnerabilities, but instead exploit them to steal nine-figure (hundreds of millions of dollars) funds. This is exactly why people can't take XRP Ledger or Ripple seriously as a legitimate institution."
Earlier news: XRP Ledger Foundation clarified misunderstandings about the security fix: the vulnerability did not mint XRP, and community consensus drove the patch.
