Zcash Development Team Plans to Introduce Quantum-Resistant Signature Opcodes in January Next Year

PANews, October 9 – According to CoinDesk, Roman Akhtariev, an engineer at Zakura, the Zcash node software development team, said the team plans to introduce post-quantum signature opcodes for Zcash in January next year, enabling the network to verify hash-based signatures that resist quantum attacks. The plan covers transparent transactions, which account for roughly 70% of issued ZEC; shielded transactions will require separate protection. This follows Justin Drake's call for the industry to plan a "bunker mode," while ZEC has fallen about 11% over the past week.
