Baker Hughes Reports Increase in Total Rig Count
The latest Baker Hughes rig count indicates a total of 603 active drilling rigs in the United States, reflecting an increase of five rigs from the previous week, which recorded 598 rigs. The count includes 462 oil rigs, up from 456 last week, while natural gas rigs decreased slightly to 132 from 133.
Year-to-date, the total rig count has risen by 56, with oil rigs increasing by 44 and natural gas rigs up by 12. This growth in rig activity comes amid fluctuating crude oil prices, which are currently trading at $91.20 per barrel, down by $0.29 or 0.33%.
The Baker Hughes rig count is a key indicator of the health of the oil and gas industry, providing insights into exploration and production trends.
