Bank of America assigned a Buy recommendation on IonQ alongside a $60 price objective. This target represents upside from present levels, though it falls short of some Wall Street peers’ more aggressive forecasts.

BofA analyst Vivek Arya emphasized IonQ’s semiconductor-based methodology for expanding qubit capacity as a primary catalyst. He also recognized the firm’s diversified client portfolio spanning quantum computing applications, communications infrastructure and sensing technologies.

      Breaking Down BofA’s Valuation Model

BofA assigned a 7.0x EV/S multiple to an anticipated $2.5 billion in quantum hardware and services revenue for 2030. The bank then utilized a 2.0x multiple on estimated foundry revenue of $1.2 billion for that same timeframe.

This methodology produces a weighted 5.4x EV/S multiple for the 2030 fiscal year. IonQ generated $246.47 million in trailing twelve-month revenue, representing a 371% year-over-year surge.

According to InvestingPro analysis, IonQ appears overvalued relative to its Fair Value calculation at present trading levels. Wall Street price targets for the stock span from $41.85 on the low end to $100 at the high end.

IonQ stands as the biggest publicly traded pure-play quantum computing enterprise by revenue. The organization has leveraged strategic acquisitions to expand beyond its foundational quantum hardware operations.

Arya observed that IonQ has deployed acquisitions to penetrate quantum networking, security applications, sensing technology, space initiatives and foundry operations. He indicated these expansions have generated additional revenue channels and enterprise partnerships while the sector advances toward fault-tolerant quantum systems.

      Recent Acquisitions and Their Impact

The SkyWater Technology transaction completed in recent months, incorporating wafer fabrication and packaging infrastructure internally. This acquisition supports IonQ’s strategy to manufacture its Superion quantum systems leveraging semiconductor production methods.

Arya specifically called out the Superion 256 platform. This system integrates electronic qubit management from Oxford Ionics with SkyWater’s fabrication and packaging expertise, reducing the optical intricacy present in previous generations.

IonQ recently announced what it describes as the sector’s first comprehensive real-time quantum error correction decoder. The organization claims this technology enables real-time error mitigation without compromising processing velocity.

After these developments, IonQ elevated its fiscal 2026 revenue outlook. The updated midpoint now stands at $455 million, increased from the previous $285 million midpoint.

Bank of America joins other optimistic analysts on the stock. StoneX maintained a Buy recommendation with a $60 objective, while Cantor Fitzgerald preserved an Overweight stance with a $70 target.

Mizuho adopted a more conservative position, lowering its price objective to $52 from $61 based on valuation considerations. B.Riley maintained its bullish outlook with a Buy rating and $100 target, pointing to revenue enhancement from the SkyWater transaction.

IonQ also presented the extended Superion QC product family at recent corporate events, together with its quantum foundry platform. Systems manufactured at SkyWater Technology facilities are projected to commence shipments in early 2027.
