Bitcoin Policy Institute: MENA Crypto Transaction Volume Reaches $350 Billion as Saudi Arabia Leads GrowthThe Bitcoin Policy Institute said the Middle East and North Africa has become one of the world’s fastest-growing crypto markets, with annual on-chain transaction volume rising from about $100 billion in 2022 to roughly $350 billion in 2025–2026. Turkey remains the region’s largest market, with annual transaction volume approaching $200 billion, while the UAE recorded about $150 billion in crypto transaction volume in 2025. Saudi Arabia was the fastest-growing market, up 154% year over year, followed by Qatar at 120%. The report said conflict and currency depreciation have increased the use of BTC and U.S. dollar-backed stablecoins as hedges in some markets, while Gulf states have emerged as regional digital-asset growth hubs through regulation and greater institutional participation.
