BitMine Increases Ethereum Holdings to Over 6 Million Coins
BitMine, an Ethereum treasury company, has significantly expanded its holdings by acquiring 17,362 Ethereum last week, bringing its total Ethereum holdings to 6,001,302 coins as of September 27, 2026. This milestone marks the first time the company's total ETH holdings have surpassed 6 million, representing approximately 4.9% of the total Ethereum supply. The increase follows a consistent growth trend since the launch of BitMine's ETH treasury strategy on June 30, 2025.
The total value of BitMine's assets, which include cryptocurrencies, cash, and other investments, is estimated at $17.2 billion. This portfolio comprises $672 million in cash and securities, 213 Bitcoin, $180 million in equity assets from Beast Industries, and a $115 million investment in Eightco Holdings. Notably, 5,067,309 Ethereum, or 84% of the total holdings, are currently staked, valued at approximately $13.7 billion, with an annualized staking yield of about $358 million.
In a recent report, Tom Lee, a representative of BitMine, highlighted that Ethereum has outperformed the S&P 500 by over 6,728 basis points in the third quarter, establishing it as the leading macro asset globally. Lee expressed optimism about the crypto market, suggesting that a bull market commenced in late June and that institutional investors are likely to increase their crypto holdings in the upcoming months. He is scheduled to deliver a keynote speech at the Korea Blockchain Week on September 30, 2026.
