BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust Sees $3.7 Billion in Quarterly Inflows, Assets Surpass $62 Billion

BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) has reported $3.7 billion in net inflows for the recent quarter, bringing its total assets under management (AUM) to approximately $62.6 billion. This significant increase highlights the growing gap between IBIT and its competitors in the spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) market, where many rival funds are experiencing capital outflows.

As of the end of June 2026, IBIT's AUM was around $43.4 billion, indicating that the fund added nearly $19 billion in value over just three months, driven by both new investor capital and the rising price of Bitcoin. Since its launch in January 2024, cumulative net inflows into IBIT have surpassed $63.9 billion, exceeding the total net inflows of all other US spot Bitcoin ETFs combined, a situation made possible by the losses faced by competing funds.

August 2026 marked a particularly strong month for IBIT, with total inflows across all US spot Bitcoin ETFs reaching about $3.5 billion, the highest since September 2025. IBIT captured a significant portion of this activity, with daily inflows frequently ranging between $100 million and $500 million. The fund's success is attributed to its competitive fee structure and its status as the leading option for institutional investors seeking Bitcoin exposure in the US.

The current inflow trend represents a notable turnaround for IBIT, which had previously faced net outflows earlier in 2026 due to fluctuating Bitcoin prices. The sustained inflows not only reflect new capital entering the fund but also create consistent demand for Bitcoin itself, as ETF issuers must purchase the underlying asset to support new shares. This structural demand for Bitcoin has emerged since the launch of IBIT, reshaping capital flows within the cryptocurrency market.
