Bybit Taker Buy/Sell Ratio Surges Above 25 Amid Aggressive Bitcoin Buying

The taker buy/sell ratio on Bybit, a major cryptocurrency derivatives exchange, has surged above 25, indicating a significant shift in market sentiment as traders aggressively buy Bitcoin perpetual futures. This extreme reading suggests that for every dollar of aggressive selling, there is $25 worth of aggressive buying, marking one of the most bullish positions recorded on the platform.

Historically, such high ratios have been associated with heightened volatility in the cryptocurrency market. Previous spikes, including a peak of 30.3 in January 2026 and 24.26 in late September 2025, occurred during periods of intense dip-buying. While these aggressive long positions can lead to rapid price recoveries, they also carry the risk of triggering liquidations if the market moves against the majority of traders.

Bybit is recognized as one of the largest derivatives trading venues globally, allowing traders to maintain leveraged positions on Bitcoin without expiration. Analysts caution that if funding rates increase alongside the taker buy/sell ratio, it could become more costly to hold long positions, potentially leading to a market correction.
