Drift Protocol Hackers Move Over 25,700 ETH Through Tornado

Hackers who stole approximately $285 million from Drift Protocol in April have recently transferred over 25,700 ETH, valued at around $61.24 million, using the privacy tool Tornado Cash. This transaction occurred just three hours ago, according to on-chain analyst Yu Jin.

Initially, the hackers exchanged the stolen assets for 131,564 ETH at an average price of $2,154 shortly after the theft. In July, they moved an additional 24,400 ETH through Tornado Cash, a service that obscures the origin of cryptocurrency transactions.

Currently, the hackers retain over 81,400 ETH, which is worth approximately $194 million. This ongoing activity highlights the challenges faced by regulators and law enforcement in tracking illicit cryptocurrency transactions.
