PANews reported on October 8 that, according to the minutes of the Federal Reserve's September monetary policy meeting, all participating officials supported raising the target range for the federal funds rate by 25 basis points to 3.75%–4.00%, and most officials believed that one more rate hike before year-end could be appropriate. Officials generally viewed inflation risks as tilted to the upside, and some noted that AI infrastructure construction could cause aggregate demand to exceed aggregate supply in the medium term.
