Layer 2 Network Blast to Cease Operations, Users Urged to Withdraw Assets by October 26

Layer 2 network Blast has announced its decision to cease operations, citing that the ongoing maintenance costs have surpassed the revenue generated by the network. The team has determined that there is no viable path to achieve economic sustainability moving forward.

Users are advised to withdraw their on-chain assets and balances from the Blast platform to the Ethereum mainnet before the deadline of October 26. To facilitate this process, the withdrawal waiting time has been shortened to 24 hours. Initially, the team will prioritize the withdrawal of Lido assets held by Blast, which is expected to take approximately one week, during which the withdrawal function will be temporarily unavailable.

After October 26, users will still be able to withdraw their assets, but this will require direct interaction with the Blast Bridge contract on Ethereum Layer 1. The team plans to provide specific operational instructions to users prior to the deadline to ensure a smooth transition.
