Hyperliquid Expands HYPE Token to Multichain Ecosystems via Wormhole
Hyperliquid has successfully expanded its native token, HYPE, to three new ecosystems: Solana, Base, and Unichain, utilizing Wormhole's Native Token Transfers standard. This multichain rollout began on September 3, 2025, coinciding with the launch of Unichain, which also introduced bridging capabilities to Solana and Base. The initiative aims to enhance liquidity and reduce fragmentation across these platforms, allowing HYPE holders to benefit from lower fees and faster transactions.
The trading activity of HYPE has already gained traction in its new environments. On Solana, the token has recorded daily trading volumes in the millions, with the tokenized value of the Wormhole-issued version reaching approximately $66 million. HYPE is also being traded on Jupiter, Solana's major trading venue, and within Uniswap pools on Unichain, indicating a strong adoption since its multichain introduction.
Hyperliquid, a Layer 1 blockchain focused on on-chain perpetual futures and spot trading, has designed its infrastructure, HyperCore, to handle up to 200,000 orders per second. This high throughput is essential for maintaining competitiveness in the rapidly evolving decentralized finance (DeFi) landscape. The expansion allows traders and liquidity providers on Solana, Base, and Unichain to engage with HYPE seamlessly, enhancing the overall trading experience across these platforms.
