Lido Introduces Direct ETH Staking from Four Layer 2 Networks

Lido, a prominent decentralized finance (DeFi) platform, has expanded its services by enabling direct Ethereum (ETH) staking from four Layer 2 networks. This new feature allows users to stake their ETH directly through Lido's interface, enhancing accessibility and efficiency in the staking process.

When users stake their ETH, they receive wrapped staked ETH (wstETH) from local liquidity pools. The original ETH is then bridged to the Ethereum mainnet for staking, while the liquidity pools are automatically replenished in the background, ensuring a seamless experience for users.

This development is expected to attract more participants to the Ethereum staking ecosystem, particularly from Layer 2 solutions, which aim to improve scalability and reduce transaction costs on the Ethereum network. Lido's integration of these Layer 2 networks marks a significant step in the evolution of DeFi services, providing users with more options for staking their assets.
