Lombard Odier sees further dollar strength

PANews reported on October 19, citing Cailian Press, that the dollar's outlook has improved as U.S. economic growth strengthens and market concerns about the Federal Reserve's independence ease. Lombard Odier & Cie has turned bullish on the dollar, reversing its previous bearish stance. The firm lowered its euro-dollar forecast from $1.14 to $1.09 and raised its dollar-Swiss franc forecast from 0.83 francs to 0.85 francs, while shifting its view on the dollar against emerging-market currencies to neutral. This is the latest move by Lombard Odier to further soften its bearish dollar stance; in June the firm had already raised its dollar allocation recommendation from underweight to neutral.
