Janus Henderson Partners with Avalanche to Enhance Technological Capabilities

Janus Henderson, a prominent asset manager with approximately $500 billion in assets under management, has announced its partnership with the Avalanche blockchain network. On September 16, 2026, the firm became an active validator on Avalanche, marking a significant step in its strategy to establish a tech-first identity within the asset management industry. The role of a validator involves verifying transactions and maintaining the integrity of the blockchain's shared ledger, a function that aligns with Janus Henderson's goal of becoming a more technologically advanced firm.

In addition to its validator role, Janus Henderson has invested in Tranched, an onchain credit platform that manages $300 million in assets and has a pipeline exceeding $3 billion in potential deals. The firm plans to provide anchor capital for Tranched's issuances, which is expected to enhance investor confidence and facilitate the closing of more deals from its substantial pipeline. This dual investment strategy underscores Janus Henderson's commitment to integrating blockchain technology into its operations.

Janus Henderson's existing tokenized products on Avalanche include the Janus Henderson Anemoy AAA CLO Fund, which has approximately $690 million in assets under management, and the Treasury Fund, which offers exposure to U.S. government debt in tokenized form. These initiatives have been bolstered by a $250 million program led by Grove, which aims to expand the real-world asset footprint on the Avalanche network. The partnership is seen as a credibility boost for Avalanche, given Janus Henderson's significant asset base, while also presenting opportunities and challenges for both firms in navigating the evolving landscape of blockchain finance.
