Morgan Stanley's Bitcoin ETF Accumulates $52 Million in Bitcoin with No Outflows

Morgan Stanley's Bitcoin Trust (MSBT) has purchased approximately 642 Bitcoin, valued at around $50.6 million, from Coinbase Prime over a two-week period in September 2026. Since its launch in April 2026, the fund has experienced no net outflows, a notable achievement for a product representing a traditional financial institution's entry into the cryptocurrency market.

Since its inception, the MSBT has garnered cumulative net inflows exceeding $538 million, bringing its total net assets to between $586 million and $635 million by mid-September. The fund, which charges a 0.14% expense ratio, is recognized as the most cost-effective spot Bitcoin ETF at launch and is administered by BNY Mellon, with Bitcoin custody managed by Coinbase Custody.

The recent accumulation of Bitcoin indicates a steady demand for the ETF, with on-chain data revealing multiple transfers into the fund's wallets. Notably, the majority of inflows have come from self-directed clients, rather than through Morgan Stanley's financial advisors, suggesting a growing interest among individual investors seeking regulated exposure to Bitcoin.
