NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's Wealth Surges with Stock Holdings

As of March 23, 2026, Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, held approximately 870 million shares of the company, representing 3.58% of its total equity. With NVIDIA's stock price at $231.49 in early October, these shares are valued at around $201 billion, contributing significantly to Huang's estimated net worth of $200 billion, according to Forbes.

Huang is recognized as the largest individual shareholder of NVIDIA, which he co-founded in 1993. His initial holdings before the company's first stock split in 1999 were about 2.9 million shares, equating to 9.9% of the company at that time. If he had maintained those shares, adjusted for stock splits, his holdings would now be close to 2.8 billion shares, indicating a reduction in his ownership over the years.

In addition to Huang's substantial shareholding, major institutional investors such as BlackRock and Vanguard Group hold significant stakes in NVIDIA, with ownership percentages of 7.43% and 7.31%, respectively. U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission regulations require individual investors with less than 5% ownership to keep their holdings undisclosed, suggesting there may be other significant shareholders not publicly identified. In fiscal year 2025, Huang received a total compensation package of $35.5 million, which included a base salary of $1.5 million, a cash bonus of $3 million, and approximately $31 million in equity through performance stock units.
