Tether Freezes Addresses Linked to Ledger Theft Incident
Tether has taken action to freeze several addresses associated with the theft of funds belonging to Ledger users, which has resulted in losses estimated at nearly 90 million dollars. This decision follows monitoring by MistTrack, which identified the affected addresses linked to the incident.
In response to the theft, some users impacted by the loss have reached out to MistTrack for assistance, and the team is actively following up on these cases. The incident has raised concerns within the cryptocurrency community regarding the security of user funds.
Ledger, a hardware wallet provider, has acknowledged the theft and is currently investigating the matter, particularly focusing on its dealings with the Southeast Asian dealer CryptoBillis. The situation highlights ongoing vulnerabilities in the cryptocurrency ecosystem and the importance of robust security measures.
