ARK Invest Shifts Portfolio: Dumps AMD (AMD) for Nvidia (NVDA) and Tesla (TSLA)

      Key Highlights

      • ARK Invest dumped more than 181,000 Advanced Micro Devices shares valued at approximately $110 million on Tuesday.
      • The investment firm accumulated over 356,000 Nvidia shares worth around $81.6 million.
      • ARK added Tesla shares valued at $17.28 million via its Innovation fund.
      • The Securities and Exchange Commission greenlit Tesla’s voluntary retail shareholder voting program aligned with board recommendations.
      • Tesla shares climbed modestly in extended trading hours after the regulatory approval.

Cathie Wood’s investment management firm ARK Invest executed significant portfolio trades on Tuesday, September 29, 2026. The company’s exchange traded funds disclosed their daily transaction activity, revealing substantial position adjustments across several major holdings.

The firm offloaded 181,767 shares of Advanced Micro Devices in a coordinated sale across four separate ARK funds. The transaction totaled approximately $110.5 million, extending a multi-month trend of ARK trimming its exposure to the semiconductor manufacturer.

Simultaneously, ARK accumulated 356,681 shares of Nvidia in a purchase valued at approximately $81.6 million. The acquisition was executed through the identical collection of funds that divested the AMD position.

ARK Expands Tesla Position Along With Other Investments

The investment firm also acquired 48,352 shares of Tesla via its Innovation fund in a transaction worth approximately $17.28 million.

Additional significant transactions rounded out Tuesday’s activity. ARK purchased Broadcom shares totaling $26.6 million and CoreWeave shares valued at $21.6 million.

The firm expanded its Intellia Therapeutics holding with an investment of roughly $2.3 million. ARK also picked up Veracyte shares in a transaction worth $5.4 million.

On the divestment side, ARK trimmed positions in Tempus AI, Twist Bioscience, 10x Genomics, and Zillow. The 10x Genomics divestiture represented the most substantial sale in this category at $38.5 million.

Additional minor transactions included acquisitions of Airbnb, Block, and Space Exploration Technologies Corp. The firm also divested a modest quantity of Alphabet shares.

Tesla Shares React to Regulatory Green Light

Tesla stock declined 1.29% throughout Tuesday’s standard trading hours. Nevertheless, shares ticked upward during after-hours activity as fresh developments reached the market.

The price action followed an announcement from the Securities and Exchange Commission. The regulatory body approved a novel Tesla initiative allowing retail shareholders to automatically align their votes with board recommendations.

The program enables investors to opt into having their shares automatically vote according to board guidance on most proposals. Participants retain the ability to exclude contested director elections and certain significant corporate transactions from the automatic voting mechanism.

Enrollment in the program carries no cost to shareholders. Registration can be completed directly via Tesla, through brokerage platforms, or via proxy voting services.

Participants maintain flexibility to modify or terminate their voting preferences at any time. Tesla states the initiative aims to enhance participation opportunities for individual investors in corporate governance decisions.

Tesla referenced data indicating retail investors cast votes for merely 28% of their owned shares in 2025. This contrasts sharply with the 76.6% participation rate among institutional investment entities.

The regulatory clearance arrives as market participants monitor developments regarding a potential SpaceX transaction. Any such arrangement might generate fresh scrutiny regarding Elon Musk’s Tesla compensation structure, though no official announcements have materialized.

Analyst consensus on Tesla stock currently stands at Moderate Buy. This aggregate rating reflects 12 Buy recommendations, 12 Hold ratings, and two Sell ratings published during the preceding three-month period.

The consensus price target among Wall Street analysts registers at $391.40 per share. This target implies potential appreciation of approximately 11% relative to present trading levels.
