AUD/USD Hits Lowest Level Since July Amid Continued Bearish Trend

The AUD/USD currency pair has fallen to its lowest level since early July, continuing a downward trend that has persisted since late September. The pair has remained below its declining 100-hour moving average since September 23, reinforcing a bearish sentiment among traders. Despite some attempts by buyers to push the price higher, these efforts have not been sufficient to alter the prevailing negative technical outlook.

The recent decline began earlier this week when the pair tested the 100-hour moving average, encountering strong selling pressure. On Tuesday, the price peaked near this moving average and the 200-day moving average, as well as a swing area between 0.70203 and 0.70269, before sellers took control. The downward momentum continued, with the pair breaking below the next support area between 0.69619 and 0.69778, leading to further declines.

Currently, the AUD/USD is trading within a lower swing area between 0.69056 and 0.69205, where buyers have shown some support, causing a slight bounce towards 0.6931. For buyers to regain control, they must hold above this swing area and break through the previous support zone, which has now turned into resistance. A sustained move above this level would indicate a potential shift in momentum, while a drop below 0.69056 could lead to further losses towards the chart's low at 0.68655.
