AUDUSD Tests Key 200-Hour Moving Average Amid Market Volatility

The AUDUSD currency pair is experiencing minimal changes as traders assess its technical outlook. Following a significant decline on Friday, prompted by hawkish remarks from Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh at the Jackson Hole conference, the pair attempted a rebound but lost momentum, leading it back towards the critical 200-hour moving average at 0.7157.

This moving average has historically served as a support level during the recent upward trend. As long as the AUDUSD remains above this threshold, buyers maintain a slight advantage. However, a sustained drop below this level could indicate a shift in market sentiment, favoring sellers and potentially targeting lower levels around 0.7128 and 0.7098.

For buyers to regain control, they must push the price above the 100-hour moving average at 0.7176. Success in this effort would redirect focus towards resistance levels between 0.7194 and 0.7201, as well as the August high of 0.7207. Currently, the 200-hour moving average at 0.7157 is pivotal in determining the market's direction.
