After Supply Chain Security Incident, Ledger Plans to Launch Phone-Style Hardware Wallet Atom
PANews reported on October 15, citing CoinDesk, that crypto hardware wallet maker Ledger announced the development of a new device, Ledger Atom, planned for release in mid-2027. The device is based on the Android system, supports apps such as WhatsApp, Instagram and TikTok, and allows users to switch between everyday phone functions and a crypto asset protection mode, while integrating the AI assistant OpenClaw.
The launch comes amid an ongoing Ledger supply chain security incident, in which a supply chain security incident involving CryptoBilis caused losses to more than 300 wallets, with on-chain researchers estimating losses of up to $93.2 million.
